How they can help

The Patient Advocates are here to serve as liaisons between patients, clinics and outside agencies to help patients overcome healthcare challenges and receive appropriate services and resources that are available to them. They are dedicated in providing Culturally Sensitive care with respect to your needs and we will always put forth their best efforts when assisting you. RSBCIHI Patient Advocates The Patient Advocates will take the time to listen and try to understand your situation to see how they can help. Maybe you know what kind of help you need but you’re not sure how to find it. Some of the resources they have connected patients with are homeless shelters, housing programs, food pantries, rental assistance, burial assistance, home health care, legal aid, financial support and other programs. They assist with Social Security, Medicare and Department of Public Social Services applications and paperwork. They have established contacts with Social Security and Medicare that can provide additional support when needed. They network with community agencies and are always looking for new resources that may benefit our patients.

Please contact the Patient Advocate assigned to your clinic for assistance or with any questions you may have. They can schedule a time to meet with you at your clinic. They will provide you with information and resources that are available to meet your needs or they will direct you to the appropriate person or program that can assist you. Our Patient Advocates are available at different sites during the week so please call in advance.
