The Food & Nutrition Services at Riverside-San Bernardino County Indian Health Inc. (RSBCIHI) are dedicated to promoting health through comprehensive nutrition programs. Our experienced team of Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) and nutrition educators provide tailored support to meet the diverse nutritional needs of our community members across all ages.


Key Programs Offered by the Department

Nutrition Coaching/Classes

  • Personalized Nutrition Counseling: Our Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) are available to provide individualized counseling tailored to your specific nutritional needs.
  • Educational Workshops and Classes: We offer a variety of classes aimed at teaching healthy eating habits and nutritional awareness.

Senior Nutrition Services

  • Nutritious Meal Provision: We provide healthy, hot lunches for seniors living on our member Indian Reservations and in nearby communities.
  • Comprehensive Elder Support: Our services include nutrition education, social activities such as Senior Bingo and Movie Days, and the "Fit after 50" exercise program.
  • Support for Caregivers: Offering education and resources to those caring for seniors, ensuring they have the support needed to maintain their health and well-being.

WIC Program / Breastfeeding

  • Supplemental Nutrition for Women and Children: WIC provides nutritious foods, nutrition education, and referrals to healthcare for low-income women, infants, and children up to age five.
  • Breastfeeding Support and Education: We promote, support, and protect breastfeeding, providing resources and guidance to new mothers, including those facing breastfeeding challenges.

Commodities Food Distribution

  • Food Assistance for Low-Income Families: The Commodities Food Program offers a variety of foods including frozen meats and fresh produce to eligible Native-American households within a 20-mile radius of our member reservations.
