Applicant must possess a High school diploma or equivalent. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License
with a safe driving record, DMV record required. Under direction of the Program Supervisor, the Prevention
Educator will plan and organize community outreach events, community mental health education programs
in multiple settings. Applicant should have some experience in working the Native American and Barstow
communities. Able to facilitate groups and provide resources for additional mental health/substance abuse
services if needed. Programs are designed to motivate change and reduce stigma surrounding seeking
mental health services, promote self-esteem, increase efficacy skills through facilitation of culture-based
curriculum. This position is funded by a Grant. Must be able to work with the Native American community
and be sensitive to the culture of the communities served by The Native American Resource Center.
