Applicant must possess a High School diploma, Environmental Health Technician Certificate (NEHA
approved), or an Associated Degree in an Biology, Environmental Science and chemistry, 2 years specialized
experience, and a current California Driver’s License. Must have or willing to obtain current BLS Certification
from the American Heart Association or Red Cross prior to orientation. Under the general administrative
supervision of the Environmental Health Services Director, the Environmental Health Technician performs
duties in connection with the Environmental Health Services Program of Riverside-San Bernardino County
Indian Health, Inc. The activities performed by the EHS Program are designed to assist Indian families and
communities with the implementation of a comprehensive environmental health program that will identify and
correct environmental conditions that are detrimental to their health. The Environmental Health Services
Technician (EHS Tech) serves as a member of the EHS team with experience and expertise to help reduce
or eliminate unhealthful conditions that may exist at home, work, school, and within community environments.
Must be able to work with the Indian community and be sensitive to the Indian Culture and its needs.
